Why Does My Drain Get Clogged?
The Majority of drain clogs are a result of improper installation for newer pvc drain systems. On older iron pipe systems, it’s most likely due to age and pipe deterioration. Most shower and tub drain clogs are due to hair and soap scum build up. In kitchen drain lines grease is typically the cause. Main line clogs are generally a result of foreign objects and wipes being flushed in the system.
How Can I Prevent Leaking Pipes?
Age affects all things and all pipes will leak over time. There are several causes. Some are high water pressure, high mineral and chemical contents. These will all affect the lifespan of pipes and fittings on water and drain lines. To help extend the life of your system we can install pressure regulating valves, softeners, and carbon filtration systems to counteract these things.
How Can I Tell If My Toilet Needs to Be Replaced?
There are as many reasons to replace a toilet as there are reasons your toilet will be functional for years to come. Age and damage are two major factors that lead to the need to replace a toilet. Toilets manufactured before 1994 use more than twice the amount of water per flush than modern toilets, so nything over 15 years old is a candidate for replacement due to the mineral content of our water which causes build up in all the toilets jets. Cracks in the tank, visible floor discoloration or dampness at the toilet’s base, and simply not flushing regularly could also be sings that it’s time for your commode to go.
